Fibromyalgia- reduce the pain, don't live with it.

Updated: Dec 30, 2019

We've heard a lot of talk about Fibromyalgia over the last couple weeks, so we decided to explore the best options we offer for our clients. Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a chronic syndrome characterized by widespread pain with tenderness in specifc areas, abnormal pain processing, sleep disturbance, fatigue and often psychological distress. The prevalence of fibromyalgia is about 2%, affecting an estimated 5 million adults, says CDC. Also, its said this disease is more common in women.

In multiple research studies being done around the world about infrared heat and Fibromyalgia, it is being proven that an infrared sauna can reduce pain medications for those having chronic pain. In one study in particular, patients who were placed in an infrared sauna at 140 degrees for 15-20 minutes saw reduction in symptoms and pain.

A study in Japan’s Nippon Rinsho reported far infrared sauna therapy has emerged as a promising new therapy for chronic fatigue. The study observed patients who had a treatment once a day for 35 days. Symptoms such as fatigue, pain, sleep disturbance and low-grade fever were dramatically improved after 15 to 25 sessions of infrared sauna therapy.

Inflammation in the musculoskeletal structure of the body creates pain. Reducing inflammation in the body of the individual’s suffering from Fibromyalgia through increasing circulation reduces pain. An infrared sauna is known for relaxing the blood vessels and increasing circulation.

As patients suffering from Fibromyalgia are serenaded in the warm rays of our infrared sauna they slip into states of relaxation and are able to observe the incremental remission of grueling symptoms. If you or someone you love is suffering from Fibromyalgia then consider regular infrared sauna therapy as a solution for symptom management. Give us a call or message us with any questions!
